Hi Yasmin, being familiarized with the topic is important to get a general knowledge and understanding. You pointed out latin rooted words to be easier but also remember to break down a term into prefixes and suffixes to be able to figure out the meaning if you dont know the exact translation of it. sometimes being able to provide the meaning to a patient is far more useful than an excat translation. Those two areas are for sure very interesting but very challenging as they have a broad range of subspecialties within. Diving into each and seeing the most common wellness visits/injuries will help in learning more in depth vocabulary.
