Mental retention is the ability to recall, recognize, reproduce or learn it. As an interpreter it is important to have good mental retention and this can be inhibited by getting plenty of sleep, by eating the proper foods, by laughter, by reading instead of watching television. There are different types of learners Visual learners they write things down, copy over your or their own notes and use color. Auditory learners can study with some you can talk and hear the information. They recite out loud what they want to remember. Haptic learners memorize by pacing or walking around while reciting or looking at the information they want to retain. They may close their eyes and write the information in the air or on their desk.
